Janice E. Maves age 77 of Dixon died Tuesday Oct. 31, 2023 at Serenity Hospice in Oregon. She was born July 29, 1946 in Dixon the daughter of Alvin and Frances (Fiscel) Harden Sr. Janice had worked at PNC in Polo and was a cook at Centennial School in Polo for 20 years prior to retirement.
She was a member of the Dixon Elks Club and Singles in Agriculture.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Alvin Harden Jr, Lyle Harden, William Harden, Roger Harden, Donald Harden, sisters Helen Willett, Joanne Harden, and Mary Jane Meyers.
Janice is survived by her children Susan (Marti) Swegle of Dixon, Sherry (Dan Franks) Ditzler of Muscatine, IA, Scott (Chris) Maves of Dixon, grandchildren Katie (Luke) Phillips, Jacob (Vicki) Swegle, Ethan Ditzler, Jesse Ditzler, Evan (Brittany) Maves, Lauren Maves, Elizabeth (Edmond) Edwards, great grandchildren Gabriella, Anastasia, Dawson and Camille, and one brother Edward Harden of Dixon.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 12pm-2pm at Plum Creek Club, 641 Palmyra Rd., Dixon. All friends and family are invited to attend.
