At about 10:00 pm on Friday May 3, Mt. Morris Police with assistance from the Oregon Police Department executed a search warrant in the 200 block of East Main Street in Mt, Morris.
The search warrant was based on information the Mt. Morris Police Department has been investigating for the past few months.
Police arrested two men. Brought into custody was 55-year-old David Lowtharp. Lowtharp was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine. Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The second person arrested was 76-year-old Kenneth Kirk for Possession of Hypodermic Syringes and Needles. Both men are from Mt. Morris and they were taken to the Ogle County Jail.
