Joseph T. Morrissey age 89 of Amboy died on Friday Sept. 29, 2023 at Dixon Health Care and Rehab.
He was born on July 21, 1934 in Amboy the son of James and Marie (Doran) Morrissey. Joseph was a life long farmer and graduated from Auctioneer School. He was a member of St. Marry Catholic Church in Walton and enjoyed bowling.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers W. Charles Morrissey, Steve Morrissey, and one sister Mary Margaret Bauer.
He is survived by his siblings Eleanor Hodges of Rockford, James (Rita) Morrissey of Palm City FL, Daniel Morrissey of Moline, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his long time companion and care giver Carl Gann.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday Oct. 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church in Walton. Visitation will be on Tuesday Oct. 3, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon with a saying of the rosary at 7:30 PM. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church in Walton.
