Keith H. Kimball, age 97, died Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
Keith was born on July 8, 1925 in Aberdeen, SD the son of George and Anna (Mythen) Kimball. He married Maryann Poe on August 31, 1947 in Sterling. She preceded him in death September 11, 2014. Keith was employed as Chief Engineer at Northwestern Steel & Wire in Sterling for 34 years retiring in 1984. He served in the United States Coast Guard. Also, he was a WWII veteran. Mr. Kimball graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL in 1950. He was an avid golfer, Cub and Bears fan, and loved his Florida Winter getaways in Bonita Springs. In his later years, he enjoyed garage sales and making his glass tables for friends and family. Keith was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sterling.
Survivors include, three daughters, Linda (Bill) Rajsky of Pekin, Julian (Mike) Howard of Frankfort and Kathy (Harry) Sarles of Garland, TX, two sons, Danny (Pat) Kimball of Belvidere and Mark Kimball of Sterling; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Kimball; two sisters, Edna Kimball and Marian Sipher.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Sterling.
