The Dixon School Board met in session last Wednesday night and breezed through approving the Consent Agenda items which included the Treasurer’s Report and expense summary. School Superintendent Margo Empen talked about her yearly evaluation conducted by the board and her goals for the 2024-25 school year.
Empen went on to say that the goals really don’t change much from year to year, with everyone in agreement that education, attendance, and discipline are all at the top of the list.
In other news, High School Assistant Varsity Head Coach Brad Winterland gave a presentation about the National High School Strength Coaches Association. This program takes a new approach from lifting heavy weights in the gym and focuses on total fitness which includes, stretching exercises, nutrition, and sleep patterns. Winterland shared that the coaches have already seen improvements.
