The Dixon City Fire Department said farewell and thank you to one of their own during the recent Dixon City Council meeting.
A special ceremony was held for 20-year veteran David Boucher on his retirement. Dixon City Fire Chief Ryan Buskohl said it was a pleasure working with Boucher. He explained all the training he accomplished, his military service and his work with local youth.
Members of the Firefighters Local 1943 also congratulated Boucher on his retirement. They said Boucher has a big heart for his fellow firefighters and the citizens of Dixon.
Boucher was given a special honor box with his fire department badge and he also given a ceremonial axe.
