If you are a property owner or you live on a flood plain in Lee County, you might find a letter in your mailbox.
Lee County Zoning Administrator Alice Henkel at the most recent Lee County Board meeting informed the members of a couple of letters they have begun to send out.
Henkel said they have discovered that there are some property owners who have structures on their property that the county does not have building permits. Henkel said they need to fill out the permit so they can get it on file.
Henkel said the list they have is very outdated. There would not be a fee associated with getting the permit on file.
The other concerns flood plains. Henkel said they were informed by FEMA of some properties that are not in compliance. The county is informing property owners of the need to get in compliance. Those letters should be going out soon if not already.
