Saturday morning was a special day for some kids in the Sauk Valley.  At Washington Elementary School in Dixon, there were fire trucks and police cars.  They were there for fun as kids and their families came to touch and see the vehicles.

This was a special day because the event was a Sensory Friendly Touch-a-Truck event.  Organizer Allison White also said it provided the opportunity to fill out a Premis Alert.  White said a Premis Alert provides valuable information in case a first responder is needed.

The goal of the event was to be inclusive to those kids who may have sensory disabilities or is autistic.  White said many times these kids are left out of events such as these.

Each child who came could see the equipment, get prizes and they were able to meet the newest member of the police department, Indy the Therapeutic dog.  From the looks of things, the fire trucks received the most attention.
