The City of Dixon has fallen in love with the idea of multi-use paths connecting the entirety of Dixon to each part of it.
During the recent Dixon City Council meeting, City Manager Dan Langloss informed the council of a couple of grants the city is trying for. This is for a project to build a retention pond and multi-use paths in the Fargo Creek TIF area.
Langloss said the plan is to break the project into two sections. They feel they would have a better chance to win the grants if it was broken into two sections.
Langloss said the pond would always remain a pond, unlike the area across from Shamrock on the southeast part of Dixon. The plan is to create multi-use paths. These paths would begin near Dement Town and work its way to the Gateway Development Area.
