Sauk Valley Community College continues to try to provide the education for people who are needed in local businesses. A new course the college will be offering for this fall is Sonography.
According to Dr. Lori Cortez, the college knew sonography was needed and wanted at local hospitals so the school stepped up to get the people the training needed.
During the recent Board of Trustees meeting, the members approved the hire of Ellyn Horn as the Assistant Professor for the Sonography classes.
She said the students would be doing a great deal of hands-on training. The college held an information meeting and they say it was so well attended they are planning another.
The new course would be offered this fall.
