Local Tumbling and Trampoline Team Fundraising After Funds Stolen

The Gymnastic Academy of Rockford- Tumbling and Trampoline team is currently doing an online GoFundMe Fundraiser to recoup the funds allegedly stolen by the treasure of the parent ran booster club.

According to online court records, 53 year old Shondra Mclarty of Rockton has been charged with Theft-unauthorized control of funds ($500-$10,000). The charge was filed in Winnebago County Circuit Court on March 12th.  She is accused of using over $1,000 in funds belonging to the Tumbling and Acro Booster Club. The investigation is continuing. Mclarty will appear in court on April 18th.

The Tumbling and Trampoline team is a nationally recognized team that has taken many championships in the USTA. The team consists of nearly 70 kids from towns such as Oregon, Byron, Ashton, Mt Morris and other surrounding towns near Rockford.

They are doing their GoFundMe Fundraiser to recoup the funds lost and to ensure that their athletes can continue their season. The Tumbling and Trampoline team will be hosting a meet for nearly 450 athletes on April 6th in Byron. They are also signing up and sending their athletes to the State Meet at Illinois State University and the National Meet in Louisville, Kentucky.
