Cost-saving measures are being taken at the new Lee County Courthouse

It was determined a while ago that the New Lee County Courthouse required an improvement that would save money in the end.

The Lee County Maintenance Department’s initial move was to install LED lights throughout the building. This change alone is expected to save the county $1,900 per month in electricity bills.

Other upgrades to the New Lee County Courthouse include new carpeting and painting on the fourth level.

County Administrator Jeremy England stated that the county just got a $17,000 reimbursement from the Allied Project for the new lights. According to England, the County Maintenance Department is still exploring for other cost savings options.
