A 66-year-old woman was detained for DUI after engaging in a dangerous driving spree

Ogle County, Illinois (WTVO) — An Ogle County lady, 66, was arrested for DUI after allegedly driving drunk and running other vehicles off the road Saturday morning.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Kathy Brooks of Kings was spotted driving a gray Chevrolet northbound in the southbound lane of Ridge Road, near Pines Road, about 12:08 a.m.

Callers stated that Brooks was swerving in and out of ditches, forcing other motorists to quit the road to prevent a collision.

When deputies found the automobile, Brooks had turned around and was driving southbound in the northbound lane, authorities claimed, ignoring the squad car behind her.

She eventually drove into a ditch and came to a stop in the 2900 block of S. Ridge Road, where she was arrested.

In addition to driving under the influence, Brooks is charged with illicit alcohol transportation and improper lane usage.

She was processed at the Ogle County Jail before being released with a notice to appear in court on a future date.
