During an early morning patrol on Route 4 and Lower Marlboro Road in Huntingtown, a deputy attempted to stop a car traveling at 82 mph in a 55-mph zone, according to the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.

Instead of halting, the motorist accelerated beyond 100 mph as deputies chased the vehicle south into Prince Frederick.

Finally, officers used stop sticks and a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) technique to disable the fleeing automobile.

The driver, Treasure Lee Muller, 41, of Glen Burnie, and passenger, Jaleal Terrence Balogun, 27, of Brooklyn Park, were taken out of the car, and as Muller stepped out, a brown bottle of PCP and a $5 bill wrapped in a white powdered residue fell from her pocket, investigators said.

According to detectives, this provided probable cause to widen their search.

According to authorities, a search of the vehicle turned up various electronics, several glass smoking devices, push rods used to pack drugs, bags of cocaine, 43 Buprenorphine strips, and a bottle of suspected methadone.

Deputies also searched Balogun, allegedly discovering a crack cocaine capsule in one sock, a baggie of crack in the other, and other baggies of crack and heroin concealed in his underwear.

A glass container containing heroin pills was also discovered, according to police.

Both Muller and Balogun were arrested and charged with:

  • CDS: Possession with intent to distribute (PCP);
  • CDS: Possession with intent to distribute;
  • CDS: Possession with intent narcotics;
  • CDS: Possession-not cannabis.

Muller also faced an additional CDS charge: possession of paraphernalia.
