The Central Illinois group U.S. Ambulances for Ukraine received a fire truck from the Sterling Fire Department a few years ago. According to reports, Ukrainian firefighters continue to make considerable use of this fire engine.
Now, the Sterling Police Department is doing the same. The department sought to get rid of some of its extra cars. At that moment, U.S. Ambulance for Ukraine made another approach to the city. SUVs were listed as one of the vehicle types they required. Despite having more cars, the gang only requested two, according to Police Chief Alex Chavira.
After their equipment has been removed, the cars will be donated and picked up at the end of April.
According to Chavira, he has not received any information on additional public donations for the cars. He would release the information if he did. Among other things, the fire vehicle was loaded with medical supplies.
