When it comes to beating an addiction, having a safe place to be, away from the temptations of falling back is important.  This is why Sinnissippi Centers have two recovery homes in the county.  A home for men and a home for woman around Amboy.

During the most recent Lee County Board meeting, representatives of Sinnissippi Centers came to request a portion of the Opioid Settlement the county is a part of.

County Administrator Jeremy England said the money is coming in slowly to the county.  For this reason, the county should help financially as funds are available.

Sinnissippi said their homes are always full and there is a waiting list to get into one.  They said many of those in need of recovery support are not in a home environment that is helpful.  They said it is important to strike when the iron is hot.
