At about 6:30 Thursday morning, a couple dozen Dixon area residents were plunged into darkness as they lost power.
This outage was caused when a Republic Services garbage truck clipped a power line on South College Avenue. This resulted in the breaking of an electric pole.
Lee County Sheriff Clay Whelan is looking into further details. No injuries looked to have happened.
