As many people know, Sterling Police Dog Brinkley is about to retire. However, she is not through with the special honors she is receiving for her valuable service.
During the Sterling City Council meeting Monday evening the council bestowed one more honor onto Brinkley. For one day, she would be top dog in the city. They voted to designate Brinkley as the Honorary Mayor of the day. Police Chief Alex Chaverra said he would let Brinkley know she would be mayor.
The new comfort dog Millie, a small golden retriever puppy has been getting all of the attention lately. Chief Chaverra said Brinkley does not like being second fiddle, so this should cheer her up.
The day for Brinkley to be Honorary Mayor of Sterling would be Monday June 3.
