On Monday, April 22, at 10:37 pm, Dixon City Fire Department was dispatched to 80 S. Hennepin Avenue at the Alley Loop for a reported food cooler that was smoking.
Crews arrived to find the building evacuated. Upon entering the building, firefighters found a significant amount of smoke throughout. The reported smoking food cooler was located, a small fire whish was extinguished, and the building was ventilated.
There were no civilian or responder injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. All responders were clear of the scene at 11:23 pm.
Dixon Rural Fire Department, Dixon Police Department and Advance EMS assisted Dixon City Fire Department on the scene.
