Sauk Valley Community College is no longer a small school in rural Illinois. The college is now reaching across the world.
During the Sauk Valley Community College Board of Trustees meeting Monday evening, the members were informed of a recent trip taken by members of the staff.
In the fall of 2023, members of Kinnaird College in Lahore Pakistan visited Sauk Valley College. A couple of months ago a group under the leadership of Professor of Political Science and Communications, Dr. Paul Edleman returned the trip with a visit to the college in Pakistan.
Dr. Jon Mandrel said the college has ramped up their foreign studies opportunities. Even though this is kind of new territory.
Those on the trip were Dr. Amy Jakobsen, Professor Glenn Bodish and PASS Facilitator Janis Jones. Mandrel said this is an opportunity for students to explore the world, travel and earn college credits. For the staff, it is a chance for professional development through interaction.
