Carl E. Griffis, Jr., age 89, died Monday, May 29, 2023 at Allure of Sterling.
Carl was born on April 14, 1934 in Ferrysburg, MI the son of Carl E. and Josie (Huisman) Griffis, Sr. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. Carl was employed as Pipefitter with the Pipefitters Local 597 in Joliet. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include, two daughters, Sherrie (Carl) Fuller of Rock Falls and Gail (Perry) Gleisner of Hahira GA; three sons, Gary (Karen) Griffis of Rock Falls, Robert (Suzy) Griffis of Albany and Scott (Melissa) Griffis of Como; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters.
There are no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements were completed by the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.
