Sandy K. Shierry, age 76, of Lyndon died Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Rock River Hospice and Home, Sterling.
Sandy was born on April 17, 1947 in Sterling the daughter of Herbert and Thoris (Nielsen) Burger. She married George Shierry on April 15, 1980. He died November 15, 2015. Sandy was employed as a Waitress for many years in area restaurants. She was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. Sandy enjoyed crafts, crocheting, going to the river boat, playing Bingo but she enjoyed her grandchildren the most.
Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (John) Watts of Rock Falls and Jamie (Andrew) Dieterle of Sterling; two brothers, Larry Burger of Tampico and John (Jeannie) Burger of Zephyrhills, FL; seven grandchildren, Emma, Sophie, Joey, Brylee, Hudson, Kye and Bryce.
She was preceded in death by, her parents, three sisters, Sally, Peggy and Deborah; two brothers, James and Herb; one son in infancy, James.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
