On Friday January 26, at about 7:30 AM, Ogle County Deputies were dispatched to the area of South Center Road and East Illinois Route 38 for the report of a school bus on fire.
The bus had only three occupants at the time of the fire. All occupants of the bus were evacuated prior to Deputies arrival and there were no injuries.
The school bus belonged to Illinois Central School Bus Company that is contracted through the Rochelle School District. After a brief investigation, it was learned that a malfunction caused a small fire in the undercarriage of the bus where it was contained.
Rochelle and Flagg Center Fire assisted Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies.
